The following is an inventory of words that Magoo can say at nearly 2 years old.
This is undoubtedly a self-absorbed piece of bloggy wank, and also completely uninteresting to you.
But it might be….
Cos I want to know (and I want you to tell me), are most kids’ first words the same (apart from the standard “Mummy”, “Daddy” repertoire)?
Or do our families and social environments have a big role to play?
Is there, perhaps, a toddler-book-publishing conspiracy? Cows, sheep, babies and…(oh yes!) Peppa Pig are key protagonists of this literature and thus of my child’s vocabulary.
Anyway, here are my words. (BTW we drink a lot of tea in our house, and I am convinced that we talk about poo way more than the average family).
1. FAVE EMPHATIC WORDS SAID ABOUT 479O793247032 TIMES PER DAY:
Poosh!!!!! (Poo or pee)
Gotchu!!!!! (got you)
I you!!!!! (I want it/I want to do it)
The usual culprits (Mum/Dad, etc.)
Peppa (Peppa Pig)
Gyawge (George Pig, Peppa’s brother)…oh dear God, one of her first 50 words is a cartoon character.
Oo-oo ah-ah (whispered – monkey)
5. BODY PARTS:
What might we conclude from this inventory? That my kid watches too much telly?
And can you send me yours peeeeese!
